Dr. Timothy Beckman is a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmologist based in Queensland, specialising in Cataract, Oculoplastics, Ocular oncology and Ophthalmic surgery. He completed both Science and Medical degrees in Queensland, and throughout his extensive training, worked in both tertiary and rural hospitals across the state. This comprehensive exposure provided a broad and in-depth understanding of all aspects of ophthalmology.
Following admission as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO), Dr Beckman pursued further advanced fellowship training, both in Australia and internationally. Dr Beckman has expertise in the management of ocular surface, intraocular, ocular adnexa and orbital tumours.

As Fellow of the Scottish Ocular Oncology Service, the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in the United Kingdom provided focussed experience of both Ocular Oncology and Orbital surgery. Dr Beckman attended Edward S Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia University in New York for Oculoplastic, Eyelid, Orbital & Lacrimal Disease experience; and has also spent time with the Ocular Oncology team at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
Dr Beckman is available for general ophthalmology and sub-specialty consultations at Terrace Eye Centre in Brisbane as well as Redlands Eye Specialists.
As a member of the Queensland Ocular Oncology Service, he is based at both Terrace Eye Centre and Mater Hospital, Brisbane, providing specialised care for patients with ocular tumours.
Dr. Beckman serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at The Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital, where he contributes to the teaching and training of ophthalmic registrars. His commitment to advancing the field of ophthalmology is reflected in his continued contributions to medical literature and his active involvement in international ophthalmology conferences, where he shares his insights and knowledge with peers worldwide.
